Western NC Fly Fishing Guides Fishing Report

My intentions are better than my execution.  I can hardly find time after getting off the river to get ready for the next days fishing, so I don't keep this page up very well.  For the best report, send me an e mail thomashopkins@earthlink.net or click on the links in blue below.

Tuckaseegee River Fishing Report: October 1- first Saturday in June. Before  the Delayed Harvest season closed the fishing was incredible. From the ledges to Dillsboro the fishing was fantastic.  Not that they would take anything, their palate was very eclectic. Can' wait until October 1. If you are planning a trip in the fall to fish the Delayed Harvest on the Tuck,

you should book your tip now.

Sorry for the inconvenience but I have had to remove my e mail address      due to excessive hacking.

Lower Tuckaseegee River report: In the Hatchery Supported section of the     Tuckaseegee River, (from the base of the old Dillsboro Dam to Fontana)  The Smallmouth etc fishing has been very good.  Wade trips and float trips alike.

Pigeon River, West Fork Fishing Report: This most picturesque stream of Western

North Carolina gave us incredible results during the Delayed Harvest season.  The fishing

after the DH season is a bit spotty.  From just above Middle Prong to the DH upper parking

area there are always the ones that "got away".  The Middle Prong, by the way is an awesome

stream to spend a day on.  You will alway find fish from above the open area where the campers

go to as far as you care to hike.  The further, the better.  It is wild trout territory and the rewards

in scenery and fish will give you life long memories.  One of my favorite days off.
